Scooter

We've got a scooter!!!!  Needless to say, it's time to baby-proof the house...and quick!

Oliver has also mastered our favorite move, the "baby turnpike" (must have been all the Jersey Shore we watched while I was pregnant!) hahaha

He's been scootin' for a couple weeks now and is getting faster and faster.  He loves being able to get around the living room to get the toys that he wants, as well as getting into everything that he shouldn't :)
(Notice the junky barrier to try and keep him from turning off the Dish and WiFi)

Oliver has been sitting on his own for about a month and now enjoys sitting in grocery carts and looking all around, and sitting in the tub and splashing like crazy!
Sitting in the cart for the first time is very serious business.

See that full tummy?!  Our boy loves to eat!!  His new foods are butternut squash, strawberries, chicken, and turkey!

Normally Oliver terrorizes Harper during our play dates, but this time she was the instigator; and he was pissed!!
 But then they made up.

Uncle Peter came for a visit last week and Oliver had SO much fun playing with him!!  They even got to jam together.

That same day Oliver was in Oma's garden helping her pick flowers, which is the silliest game.

Last weekend we had our first time out away from Oliver; our friend from high school got married so it was the perfect excuse to get a babysitter!  Thankfully Baba Rimma saved the day and watched Oliver for us.  THANK YOU BABA RIMMA!! :)

This has been the expression of the week.  I really think that teeth are coming soon.  This weekend he's been doing this look but also moving his lips around, I think his gums are itchy.  Sometimes I think I see something, but his darn tongue is always in the way.

Tuesday Oliver and I are off to Chelan to meet Krissa and her family for a couple days!  Then we'll meet Jeff at Lake Tyee for a long weekend to celebrate Oma and Auntie Brenda's birthday.  It'll also be the first time in months that all the cousins will be together!

Summer Lovin'

Well, it's officially summer; which means that it's getting that much closer to me going back to work :(  I have enjoyed my time at home SO much and am incredibly lucky to have had these past months at home with Oliver.  When I go back at the end of August, my parents are going to watch Oliver two days a week, and we found a wonderful lady with a home daycare to watch him the other three days; she's a family-friend of the Watilos and lives down the street from us!

At the end of June we celebrated my parents' 21st wedding anniversary!  We made a yummy dinner and had them over with Martin and Linda.  Last year Jeff and I threw them a surprise party, so it's been fun celebrating them the past two years in our house.

A few days later we went to Grandma Neen's house for dinner with her family to celebrate all their June birthdays and Father's Day (she was my daycare lady growing up and like a second mom).  We had such a nice visit with them!!  For me it was fun being back in her house all these years later and showing Jeff around; it felt like coming home after a long trip.

Last weekend Oliver had his first ride on a swing at our friend's house.  He LOVED it!!  He was smiling and laughing the whole time.

This past weekend we went to Lake Tyee and spent a nice, long weekend with my parents and Olli.  Mom had a little too much fun showing off Oliver to all her friends ;)
The morning of the 4th we headed into Concrete to watch the parade...it was quick and dirty, over in 5ish minutes!

The clubhouse hosted a family day on Saturday with lots of different events and activities.  We really wanted to get Oliver's face painted with a mustache, but he wasn't having it.  The lady painting just couldn't torture him after looking into his sad eyes...

So we settled for the next best thing, a tattoo!  He is bad.to.the.bone with his anchor tattoo...and pacifier!

During the winter there were several different sets of Bigfoot tracks found at Lake Tyee.  In the office they have a casting from one of the prints.  We thought it would be fun to take Oliver's picture by it and to also compare foot sizes.

Today our little man is 7 months old!

He still has no teeth.
He can sit up on his own for a good long while, especially if something is behind him for a little extra support.
He has been scooting himself around even more; sometimes reaching, scooting, and getting things that are a foot or so away from him.
Just this past weekend he started reaching out if he wants you to hold him...and will also hold on tight if he doesn't want to leave you.
His current favorite CD is Justin Timberlake's 20/20 Experience.  Twice this weekend he has been a little fussy in the car and as soon as we turn it on loud, he stops fussing and zones out.

Jeff calls this, "The Timeless Art of Seduction"

Oliver HATES having his face and hands washed after eating because it means all the food is gone, so this is our game that we play once he's cleaned up.  Look for his Superman pose!
