11 months!

Oliver became a big cousin twice in three days!!  Uncle Nick and Aunt Shannon had Penelope on October 11th, and then on the 14th Uncle Michael and Auntie Mandy had Abigail!

After Abby was born we headed up to meet her and had a nice visit.  Oliver wasn't too keen on sharing mommy, so I got all my Abby-snuggles while Oliver was sleeping :)

While visiting we took the kiddos to the pumpkin patch.

Oliver wasn't too interested in sitting with is cousin...

For Halloween our little guy was an elephant.
We went to Uncle Martin and Aunt Linda's house,
stopped by Grandma Neen's house, she gave him an awesome bag of goodies,
and then we went to Oma and Deda's before heading home for dinner.

Last weekend we were up in Canada to celebrate Lukas' 1st birthday!!  We tried our best to get a picture of all the little cousins...but Oliver was too busy to sit still, and we weren't able to get Abby in the picture.

Loves to take his socks off and chew on his feet (especially in the car).
Gives LOTS of kisses.
Waves bye and blows kisses.
Love to do pat-a-cake; he claps along and also rolls it up.
Standing more on his own, for like a good 10+ seconds, and has taken a couple steps.
HAS ONE TOOTH!!  And another one is coming soon!
Loves talking on the phone.  He likes to steal my phone and gets mad when it's not lit up, so we call someone so he can yell at them, all while kissing the phone.
If you tell him to say "hi" he puts his hand up to his ear like he's on the phone.
When he's eating, he'll drink from his milk cup and then throw it on the ground when he's done drinking...every.single.time.
Loves playing in the pantry when I'm in the kitchen cooking.
He never stops moving!  It was SO hard to get a monthly picture of him because he does not want to sit still.

Pumpkin Patch

Today we went to the pumpkin patch with our friends Dave and Jaime, and their two kiddos Hunter and Haydin.
We had SO much fun!  We took a hay ride, saw some stinky farm animals, watched pigs recreate The 3 Little Pigs, saw a duck race, and drank apple cider.  It was the perfect fall day!

10 Months!!

This little guy is getting closer to his first birthday...and this mama is sad that her baby is growing up so fast!!

Here are his new tricks from the past month!
Clicks tongue
Innie is an outie by the end of the day
Everything is "mama" or "dada"
Walking along the furniture
Dances to any and all types of music
Laughs when you're laughing
Waves hi and bye...when he's in the mood ;)
Starting to understand some words; looks for his snack bowl, looks for mama and dada when asked
Loves to drink his milk during meal times, but once he's done at that moment he throws his cup onto the ground
Shoves food into his mouth, then sorts through it with his tongue and spits out what he doesn't like at that meal (mainly a daycare trick, even though he's eaten all of it the night before)
He picks out certain things that he loves and eats those first

Last weekend we went to Canada to see everyone before Baby Eramo is born...she's due any day!!
Saturday the whole family came over and we had SUCH a nice visit!  As always, it's so fun having all the little cousins together, although it's getting harder and harder to take pictures of all of them together because they're all so busy!!

Oma got Stella and Oliver matching sweaters from the cutest old lady at the Concrete Saturday Market, so naturally we had to take pictures!

Funny Honey

This kid cracks us up on a daily basis.  He's always in a good mood and is SO happy when we're all home together and playing.  My new favorite is when he laughs because we are laughing :)

Beware: his giggle is contagious!
You've been warned...
Here he is last week playing with Dad before dinner.

Playtime in the tubby, showing off our new facial expressions, sounds....and BIG, FULL TUMMY!

This weekend he wore big boy jammies for the first time!  He got them from his Uncle Knut and Auntie Gro in Norway.

9 Months!!

Here are the stats...
Weight: 18 pounds 15 ounces (25%)
Height: 28 inches (45%)
Our peanut is still a peanut! :)

He's been SOOOO much fun lately!!  Laughing like crazy, especially at night when he's getting ready for his bath (we have this whole game thing that the three of us do every night).  The other night he started dancing at my parent's house.  Just today he was playing ball with my mom.  He's climbing like crazy and getting into everything.  And just when you think he's too busy for you, he comes by and climbs into your arms for a snuggle or surprises you with a kiss.  I don't think we could be anymore in love with this guy.

A week or so ago we started real solids and he can't get enough!  His little pinchers do a good job of picking up food and he's quite ferocious at times trying to get the food into his mouth!  He's still eating everything in sight...kiwi, strawberries, meat of any kind, he's obsessed with avocado, baby cheetos, and fig newtons.  Seriously, if you give him food, he will eat it.

Playing in his highchair after dinner.

Dance party today at Oma and Deda's.

Playing ball with Oma.

Still no teeth, and we don't see any prospects.
Likes playing the piano...I see piano lessons in the future!!
Continues to pull himself up onto his feet and has gotten really quick.
Been cruising around his crib and the furniture for a couple weeks now.
Can officially sit up on his own.
The scoot has been traded in for a crawl!
Points to things.
LOVES to talk and (happy) scream...especially in the store or when you're on the phone!

Summertime Sadness

...that chick must be singing about the sadness of summertime ending and having to go back to the real world.  A.K.A. the story of my life.

Holy moly!  Where do I start?!

We've been super busy around here soaking up our last days of summer and time off.

A few weeks ago we went to Tyee for the weekend so we could go to Cascade Days.
Our favorite is the parade!  Pretty much everyone from Concrete and the nearby towns come and participate, from the little cheerleaders to the grannies in their red hats.  Oma's favorite part is when they throw candy :)

Two weeks ago Oliver tried daycare for the first time!  I was totally sad dropping him off even though it was only for a few hours.....I may have shed a few tears :(
When I picked him up I noticed he felt warm and sure enough he had a fever.  The rest of the week was awful.  Little mister was beyond miserable.  He pretty much slept all day, only waking to eat and snuggle.  His doctor said he had a flu-type virus and two days later his fever spiked to 104*!  Back to the doctor we went and then to Children's for blood-work to find out what was going on.  My poor boy was lying on the table screaming his head off while the tech was setting up and drawing blood; Oma held down part of his body, while I was holding down the rest and silently sobbing.  I couldn't help it!  I felt so terrible that he was so sick and had to go through all of it.  I was beyond thankful that my mom came with us, I would have been a wreck without her.

Showing off his battle wound

Passed out from all the excitement

Last week marked my first official week back at school.  Monday was really hard for me.  I cried all while getting ready, more when I dropped him off, and even more at work when everyone asked me how I was doing.  The week definitely got easier, probably from the stress of having way too much to do in my classroom.  Friday morning when we got to daycare Oliver started smiling and clapping as soon as he saw the big girls, who are totally in love with him.  Such a charmer!

Here are a couple videos from the weekend!
We were finally able to get him clapping for the camera:

He LOVES playing with magazines:

Our newest trick...eating big boy food!  He still hasn't sprouted any chompers, but it doesn't slow him down a bit!!  Oliver is loving noodles, avocado, chicken, sweet potato...ANYTHING!  This boy loves to eat!!!

I forgot to mention the fact that unless we are all eating at the same time, it's hard to eat around Oliver because he's always begging for bites :)

8 Months

...and 9 days :)

We are still scootin' all over the place, getting faster and faster.
Now Oliver pulls himself up onto his knees to play, as well as onto his feet (while holding onto something).  He's so quick too!
He waves hi and bye and is starting to clap...but of course stops as soon as I want to take a video.
He's growing more hair!!  The back has a lot more, and in the right light you can tell that there's more all over.

We've been SOOOOO busy around here lately enjoying our last few weeks of summer.

We had a weekend at Tyee to celebrate Oma's birthday.  It was the first time in months that all the cousins were together, and of course I forgot to take pictures.  Mom fail :(

Last week we went to Grandma Neen's house for a lunch date (she was my daycare lady growing up).  We had such a nice time catching-up, and Oliver loved snuggling with Tandy and playing with her daughter.

Oliver, Oma, and I just came back from Canada where we were taking care of Stella for a couple days while her daycare lady was on vacation.  We had SUCH a wonderful time playing with Stella and having so much one-on-one time with her, Mike and Mandy.
The kids were adorable playing together and Stella was hugging and kissing Oliver like crazy!
Caught red-handed enjoying the princess castle.

They also had their tubby together every night.

Our first day together we went to see Tante Liesl, a family friend.  She was one of my Oma's bestfriends, so visiting with her is like being with my Oma.

Then we headed to Uncle Peter and Auntie Brenda's house.  The kids played the piano with their big cousins and played in the yard.

The next day we played and went for a swing.

Our last day together we went to White Rock for fish and chips, ice cream, and a walk.
Deep in thought while watching the seagulls.

We also went to Oma and Deda's Graceland...COSTCO! ;)  Needless to say, we had both kids in the cart and I looked like a total tourist taking pictures of them in the store. P.S. Do you know how hard it is to get two babies to look at you and smile at the same time?
 Stella's favorite game :)

This weekend we're headed back up to Tyee.  Next week Oliver goes to daycare for two days to get used to it.  I'm full of mixed emotions.  I'm excited to be back at work and doing what I love, but I'm really going to miss being with my boy all day, watching him play and grow.
